Ok, I've downloaded a few ring tones and am able to set those
ring tones for individual people, "when they call". But how do
you select a different ring tone for txt messages. When you
go into options to choose, none of my ring tones are listed.
Only the stock Verizon ring tones are shown. Same goes for
email notifications.

On your SD card, create a folder named "Media". In that folder create another folder named "Audio". In that folder create four folders named "Alarm", "Music", "Notifications", and "Ringtones". Put your text alert tones in the "Notifications" folder.

Hmm....? I have my data cable connected to my Droid 2 and my laptop. While the computer knows that there is a removalbe disk attached, it keeps asking to please insert a disk into removable disk. So just how do I go about creating the folders?

Did you mount your phone? After you plug it into your computer, pull down the top menu, and select USB connected, and then select Mount.

OK, I got the sub folders created - thank you - I've only been at this two days, so I'm still very new to learning this.

So now I have the folders, and I found a couple ringtones that I downloaded from the Mabilo Ringtones app. How do I get them from their folder into the alarms folder, and then have them show up under the alarm ringtones? I tried copying from the com/mablio folder, but the ringtone doesn't show up.

Do you create the media folder in the root of "removable disk" when you mount it to the PC?
I'm having an issue with this too.
What files are supported? just MP3?

Where are the options for incoming txt messages notifications?
I can only see the option to change the ringtones, not the txt messages.

Thanks

If you are talking about specific ringtones for text alerts - take a look at HOW TO: Assign Ringtones for Text Messages

Download the SMS Popup application to do this.  Also just create a folder on your SD card called "notifications" without the quotes and you will be able to see them.  I have the Droid 2.
